Did ya’ll survive the first “Winter Storm” of 2018? We did! A little ice, snow showers, and frigid cold weather was our forecast for a short few days and honestly…Really appreciated that time of real winter weather that Austin seldomly sees every other year or so. Now that the sun is out and things are warming up a bit, we’ve curated a fun list of things to do for the rest of January 2018! Get up, get up it’s the FIRST (month) of the YEAR!

January 18-21, 2018 – Austin Boat and Travel Trailer Show [Austin Convention Center 500 E Cesar Chavez St. Austin, TX 78701]: Come on down….for a new boat! (ski, fishing, yacht, bay, pontoons, wake-sports, and even kayaks) Also look forward to showcases of RVs, travel trailers, toy haulers, teardrop trailers, and fifth wheels — All from local vendors! #KeepAustinLocal

January 26, 2018 – Harlem Globetrotters World Tour [Frank Erwin Center 1701 Red River Austin TX 78701]: Join the fun of the OG Harlem Globetrotters World Tour against the Washington Generals. This event isn’t just about basketball — It’s about family and togetherness! Bring the kids and you just might end up performing on the court!

January 26-28, 2018 – Star of Texas Tattoo Art Revival [Palmer Events Center 900 Barton Springs Road Austin, TX 78704]: This isn’t your typical tattoo event. Enjoy yourselves and explore the history of tattoo art and then some entertainment featuring contests and even local artists practicing craft tattoos on people like you!

January 28, 2018 – Austin Gorilla Run [Camp Mabry 2200 W 35th Street Austin, TX 78703]: Did you know a 5k run is only approximately 3 miles? YOU CAN DO IT! This marathon benefits actual mountain gorillas. You can make it really fun for you and your group by doing it all in a gorilla suit. Talk about, #KeepAustinWeird huh?

So, what do you say? These are just some of the tons of Austin events going on right in your neighborhood. We made sure to pick events that are located in walking, biking or a short driving distance from where you may live, whether it be in the 78704, 78703 or 78702 areas.
